Mystery Country #1 is Germany

City on the roster: Munich

I will be arriving in Munich a couple days before Robert gets back from his race to Italy.  I will do a little sightseeing to experience a few things that I know are not “Robert’s Thing”…like a guided tour to Neuschwanstein Castle.  This is the famous castle that Cinderella’s castle in Disneyland was created after.  So far, that is the only thing that I have officially decided to do here in Munich.

We will be spending a couple days in Munich together at the end of our trip as well, so I want to be sure not to do any of the stuff that I know my husband wants to do.  Especially visit the Hofbräuhaus for some rubbing elbows with the locals and drinking beer out of Stein’s.   Speaking of Stein’s…did you know that Albert Einstein was born in Germany? When Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany, Albert left and went to the United States where he spent the rest of his life.  Why am I telling you this? Because Adolf Hitler has something to do with my second Mystery Country…stay tuned for more information on that.

Other things that I would really like to do is take a cooking class in Munich so I am still researching that possibility.

But one thing that would be so very amazing…is to attend a Women’s flag football practice while there.  As many of my friends, family and colleagues know, I having been playing flag football for 13+ years.  I have always wanted to play in an international tournament, but going to a practice in another country would be just as amazing.  However, I am having a little trouble finding any information on Women’s Recreational leagues in Munich.  If you know anyone who knows anyone, please give a shout out.

As soon as I meet up with Robert, we will grab the car rental and it is Auf wiedersehen to Germany.

I would love your feedback on any “must-do’s” while in Germany.

Don’t forget to guess where Mystery Country #2 and #3 are.

The second clue…

This country has the most photographed Welcome to sign in all of Europe.

The third clue…

This country is responsible for the invention of the Rubix’s Cube and Vitamin C.

I just received the formal confirmation from Flight Centre that I have officially paid for my flight to Europe.  So….where am I going? Well, let me tell you.

First of all, my amazing and driven husband will be racing his bike from Germany to Italy in 7 days in a grueling race called The Trans Alps.  Once he has completed that amazing and fulling task I will meet up with him and we will begin our Europe adventure.

I am not going to tell you where I am traveling to.  You have to guess.

The first clue…

This country is a leader in Green Technologies such as, recycling, waste water management and energy efficiency.

The second clue…

This country has the most photographed Welcome to sign in all of Europe.

The third clue…

This country is responsible for the invention of the Rubix’s Cube and Vitamin C.

Now, I know some of you know already…

But I would love to get your feedback on what you think these three countries are and if you can guess the cities I will be visiting, while in these countries.  This is very exciting for me because this is my first trip to Europe.  I have traveled to many places and started when I was in Grade 9 when I took my first trip without my parents.  I spent 3 months in a small town called Ohtaki on Hokkaido in Japan.  The following year, I spent a month in Mexico in a small town called Cuernavaca just outside of Mexico City without my parents.  The following year, a few months in Tokyo, Japan…the following year 4 months in Sendai, Japan only to return home for one month and to return to Sendai again for another 4 months.  Among other places I have traveled are both coasts of Mexico, Hawaii, many places in the continental United States, and twice to Cuba.  I know I am not a world traveler but in a few short months I can cross 3 more countries off my “to-do” list.

So I invite you to guess what these three countries are and their cities that are about to Get Jacked.

Country 1: I will be visiting 1 major city.

Country 2: I will be visiting 3 major cities.  With many stops along the way.

Country 3: I will be vising 1 major city.

Every once and a while, I get a chance to work on a site which is creatively designed and built, especially in terms of functionality.  We partnered with Flipside to create one such site for Stephanie Orr, a top-tier realtor.  With an impressive attention to detail and dedication to her clients, Stephanie needed a website which matched her level of excellence and experience.

This website is second to none with a vast array of flexible and useful tools – for both Stephanie and her clients.  Stephanie constantly needs to update her site with new information and photos.  The information she posts – such as her featured neighbourhood or her current market update – automatically updates on her site under the appropriate thumbnail.  It’s that simple!

Her listings do the same, but with radically streamlined and beautifully designed features.  When Stephanie adds a new listing, her site does several things for her:

  • All her photos are automatically cropped to the best thumbnail image.
  • As she fills out the listing form (say for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath with a parking spot), the listing on her site automatically inserts the corresponding amenity icons and the associated number,  making her listings visually appealing and really easy to understand at a glance.
  • When she sells a property, she merely has to change its status and the listing automatically changes place, appearing under her sold tab and floating a sold banner across the image.

Clients are able to recommend Stephanie and rave about her services under the “client love” tab.  All Stephanie has to do is approve the comment and her testimonials practically write themselves!

Lastly, Stephanie (and her site, if I may be so bold) goes above and beyond with an exclusive page just for her clients.  This page is password protected and provides all kinds of useful tools and information to make the buying/selling process as easy and hassle-free as possible for her clients.

We were so honored to participate with Flipside on such a creative and unique site.  Now Stephanie can take her client appreciation and business to a whole new level!

We’d love to transform your site into a ingeniously functional powerhouse.  Feel free to challenge us.

Stephanie Orr, Your Real Estate Agent
