Trap Shooting Programs
Trap shooting at the North Peace Rod & Gun Club offers members and participants a structured environment to practice and enjoy one of the club’s most active shooting disciplines. Programs are designed to support safe participation, skill development, community involvement, and recreational competition for shooters of all experience levels.
Trap shooting activities are offered based on club scheduling, range conditions, volunteer availability, and seasonal operations.
About Trap Shooting at the Club
Trap shooting involves launching clay targets away from the shooter to simulate moving targets. All shooting activities are conducted in accordance with established safety standards, range rules, and operational procedures.
The club currently operates multiple trap houses and hosts a variety of programs throughout the season, ranging from beginner-friendly evenings to registered competitive shoots.

Ladies Intro to Trap
The Ladies Intro to Trap program is designed to create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for women who are new to trap shooting or looking to build confidence with firearms and shooting sports.
Programs may include:
- Firearm safety and range etiquette
- Trap shooting basics and techniques
- Hands-on instruction
- One-on-one volunteer support
- Supervised shooting opportunities
The program focuses on education, confidence building, and creating a positive first experience in the shooting sports community.
Space may be limited depending on volunteer and range availability.
Drop-In Trap Shooting
PITA Registered Shoots and Ram Buckle Shoot
Our shoot, the Ram Buckle Shoot is shot over a number of days with normally 300 birds being shot each day – 100 singles, 100 handicap, and 100 doubles.
Corporate and Group Trap Rentals
Businesses, organizations, and private groups may be able to rent the trap facilities for events, team-building activities, staff functions, or private shooting experiences.
Group trap rentals may include:
- Dedicated trap field access
- Volunteer trap operators
- Safety orientation
- Structured shooting sessions
- Customized scheduling where available
Availability depends on club scheduling, volunteer availability, and range operations.

Who Can Participate

Equipment & Fees
Participants are responsible for supplying their own:
- Firearms
- Ammunition
- Hearing protection

- Other required safety equipment
The club does not sell ammunition or rent firearms.
Clay target fees, league fees, event fees, and registration costs may apply depending on the activity or membership status.

Safety First
Safety is the highest priority during all trap shooting activities. Participants are expected to:
- Follow all posted range rules
- Obey instructions from Range Operators and event staff
- Use approved equipment suitable for trap shooting
- Handle firearms safely at all times
- Conduct themselves in a respectful and responsible manner
Failure to follow safety procedures may result in removal from the activity or range.
